Hi! I’m Recis, a non-practicing Nursing graduate and professional. I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2008. I then worked as a web article writer for a variety of online Internet companies. On all those occasions, my employment was contractual or project-based with no formal contract. That meant no benefits, commission-based salary, and no promotion. It wasn’t bad and I actually preferred it.
In 2011, I applied for a premier conservatory of music in the Philippines, only to fail in its entrance examination. I took the same examination in 2012 but failed again. Frustrated, I thought of delving into the mass communications field.
At first, I attempted to take a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, a second course. However, I was
discouraged advised to take a Master’s degree instead, in a school that will accept me.
I did find that school: My former university. I am now taking up Master in Development Communication through a modular / distance /alternative learning system. Since we’re self-studying and meet just once a month, I plan to look for communications-related work to build my credentials centered on communications media / broadcasting.
